Mary Ann & Jim Stagner      

Mary Ann received her initial photographic training at Tri-Community College in California. She has been a professional photographer for over 20 years. Mary Ann has been classified as a Certified Professional Photographer by the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). She has also been awarded the degrees of Master Photographer and of Photographic Craftsman by the PPA. Mary Ann is a Fellow of Photography in both Virginia and Maryland. She has been awarded the both the Fuji Masterpiece and the Kodak Gallery Award for Photographic Excellence. She has had images in the Loan Collections of PPA, Maryland PPA and Virginia PPA. She has had an infrared image in the permanent loan collection of the American Society of Photographers (ASP) in Oklahoma City, and has had an image selected to represent the United States at Photokino in Cologne, Germany. She has also been awarded the Carolyn Yen Memorial Award for Best Nature Photograph in Maryland by the Maryland Professional Photographers Association.

Jim has been a professional photographer for a shorter period of time. After over 10 years as an amateur, he received his professional training at the Triangle Institute of Professional Photography in Pittsburgh, PA. He is also a PPA Certified Professional Photographer, and has been awarded the degree of Master Photographer. He is an Associate Fellow of Photography in Virginia. In 1999 Jim was selected as Photographer of the Year in the State of Virginia by the VPPA. He is a three time winner of the Paul Huffman Award of Best Architectural Photograph in Virginia by the VPPA, and in 1998 won the Nancy Justice Award. Jim has been awarded two Fuji Masterpiece Awards, and has had one of his images featured in FujiFilm brochures and trade show exhibits. Mary Ann and Jim have both had images of theirs featured in the Professional Photographers Magazine, and Jim received the cover of the Virginia Professional Photographers Magazine.

Mary Ann and Jim are both truly Photographic Artists.

NEWS FLASH: Mary Ann and Jim have had five images selected for display at the Annual Convention of the Professional Photographers of America in Austin, Texas in January 2006.

Jim has been selected to receive the SILVER level Photographer of the Year Award which will be presented to him on January 24 at the Imaging USA Awards & Degrees Ceremony.

At the 2005 VPPA convention Mary Ann and Jim won a total of six blue ribbons and six red ribbons out of 12 prints entered. Jim had his Illustrative Image "Curves" win a Court of Honor award. Jim also was given a plaque for the best entry by a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) for his Creative image "Kaleidoscope".

Jim was awarded the degree of Photographic Craftsman at the January 2005 annual convention of the Professional Photographers of America in New Orleans. He joins Mary Ann as both a PPA Master Photographer and a Photographic Craftsman. They each had an image on display at the convention.
